PwC Legal and its partner network advises LeanIX on the acquisition of Cleanshelf, Inc.
Nuremberg/Berlin, 29th March 2021
A multinational team from PricewaterhouseCoopers Legal AG Rechtsanwaltsgesellschaft (PwC Legal) together with the US based partner firm Mintz, Levin, Cohn, Ferris, Glovsky and Popeo, P.C. has provided comprehensive legal advice to LeanIX GmbH (LeanIX) on the acquisition of US Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) management provider Cleanshelf, Inc. In this context, former Cleanshelf-investor Dawn Capital LLP becomes a new shareholder in LeanIX. With this acquisition, the Bonn based start-up LeanIX now offers IT management and IT teams suitable solutions in addition to its successful Enterprise Architecture Suite and Cloud Intelligence module to enable continuous transformation.
LeanIX was founded in 2012 by André Christ and offers SaaS-based applications in the fields of Enterprise Architecture (EA) and cloud governance to reduce complexity in IT application landscapes in companies and thus to accelerate their digital transformation. LeanIX now has 360 employees worldwide and works together with 450 international customers including well-known brands such as Adidas, Atlassian, Dropbox, DHL, Merck, Volkswagen, Vodafone and Zalando. More than 40 certified partners such as Deloitte, Cognizant and the PwC network rely on the dynamically growing IT company.
Cleanshelf is one of the leading enterprise SaaS management platforms focused on tracking, controlling, and benchmarking SaaS applications. The SOC 2-compliant and AI-powered technology helps companies save up to 30% on their SaaS spending by automatically identifying unmanaged contracts, duplicate licenses, and wasted cloud software subscriptions. Based in San Francisco, Cleanshelf provides an enterprise-grade solution to over a hundred clients, including Qumulo, Wodify, and CoStar Group.
Dawn Capital is one of the leading European early-stage venture funds that focuses on investing in the enterprise and B2B software and FinTech sectors.
