PwC Legal advises Aleph Alpha on its merger with Cohere

A multidisciplinary team from PricewaterhouseCoopers Legal AG Rechtsanwaltsgesellschaft (PwC Legal) and PricewaterhouseCoopers GmbH Wirtschaftsprüfungsgesellschaft (PwC Germany) has provided Aleph Alpha with comprehensive legal and tax advice in connection with the binding agreement to merge with Cohere (business combination). The transaction is still subject to regulatory approvals.
Cohere and Aleph Alpha are two established providers of secure and sovereign AI for governments, public institutions and highly regulated industries. The combined company brings together proven research expertise, enterprise solutions and long-standing partnerships in the public sector in Canada and Europe. It will remain deeply rooted in both countries – with headquarters, research and development centers, and leadership roles. Following the transaction, Cohere’s team will grow to over 1,000 employees spread across both continents. The plan is to have two headquarters, one in Canada and one in Germany.
