Dr Nicolas Sonder appointed to lead PwC Legal’s Global Government & Public Services Industry Group
Düsseldorf, 5 April 2023
The Legal Leadership Team of PwC’s global network has launched a global Industry Group for Government & Public Services as of 1 April 2023. Dr Nicolas Sonder, Partner at PwC Legal Germany, was appointed as its head.
The Industry Group will act as both a think tank and an operational unit. In the spirit of thought leadership, the experts of the Industry Group address all topics that are specifically relevant to the public sector. It also coordinates all activities related to new business opportunities as well as the activities of the worldwide locations.
We are very pleased to have found in Nicolas an experienced, highly qualified lawyer for this responsible position. We are sure that his diverse project experience in the public sector will be very valuable to successfully build the new team.
The reason for the establishment of the new Industry Group is the enormous challenges the public sector is facing, especially with regard to international issues. These include, for example, the public sector's need to catch up in terms of digitalisation and data security, questions of financing public services as well as public procurement. Important aspects are also challenges arising from climate change as well as questions of (international) trade relations.
Dr Nicolas Sonder is a partner at PwC Legal Germany, aged 40, and specialises in advising the public sector, particularly in the areas of digital transformation, telecommunications and cyber security. In this context, he has already accompanied numerous projects for the federal government, federal states, municipalities and public companies.
