PwC Legal and PwC Germany advise Sportcast GmbH on the conclusion of a joint venture for TV outside broadcasts
Nuremberg, 23rd November 2021
A multidisciplinary team of PricewaterhouseCoopers Legal AG Rechtsanwaltsgesellschaft (PwC Legal) and PricewaterhouseCoopers Wirtschaftsprüfungsgesellschaft GmbH (PwC Germany) provided comprehensive legal advice to Sportcast GmbH, a subsidiary of DFL Deutsche Fußball Liga, on the conclusion of a joint venture with a subsidiary of MADSACK Mediengruppe in the field of outside TV broadcasting.
LIVECAST TV Produktion GmbH and HD SAT Communication GmbH, both subsidiaries of Sportcast GmbH, merge with TVN MOBILE PRODUCTION, a subsidiary of the TVN Group, which is part of the MADSACK media group. In the future, the joint company will operate on the market under the name TVN LIVE PRODUCTION. Like the MADSACK media group, TVN LIVE PRODUCTION is based in Hanover. The operating business of LIVECAST TV Produktion GmbH and HD SAT Communication GmbH will remain in Flörsheim. The joint venture is still subject to approval by the antitrust authorities.
The future cooperation between Sportcast and TVN Group in TVN LIVE PRODUCTION will focus on the broadcasting of Bundesliga and 2nd Bundesliga matches as well as high-quality productions in the areas of music and shows as well as other sports.
