PwC Legal advises meat processor Tönnies on the sale of its shares in Polish logistics company PAGO

PricewaterhouseCoopers Legal AG Rechtsanwaltsgesellschaft (PwC Legal) has provided comprehensive legal advice to Tönnies International Holding GmbH on the sale of its shares in Polish logistics firm PAGO Sp. z o.o. to the US-based provider of logistics solutions, Lineage Logistics Holdings, LLC.

Tönnies International Holding GmbH, headquartered in Rheda-Wiedenbrück in East Westphalia, Germany, is a family business active in the food industry. With approximately 16,500 employees, the international company operates in eight divisions. In 2018, Tönnies generated an annual revenue of 6.65 billion Euros.

PAGO Sp. z o.o. is one of the largest logistics providers in the frozen food sector in Poland. The company runs a network of cold store and distribution plants with a total storage capacity for 190.000 pallets. The logistics firm employs nearly 400 team members.

The buyer, Lineage Logistics, is one of the world’s leading providers of temperature-controlled logistics solutions. Headquartered in Michigan (USA), the company employs around 7.200 team members. With the acquisition of PAGO, Lineage is gaining access to the Polish logistics market.
