Dr Michael Huertas becomes Financial Services Legal Lead in PwC’s global network

Frankfurt, 14th February 2023

Dr Michael Huertas, Partner at PricewaterhouseCoopers Legal AG Rechtsanwaltsgesellschaft (PwC Legal Germany), has been appointed Financial Services Legal Leader for PwC’s Global Legal Business Solutions Network  with effect from 1 February 2023. The 39-year-old – a specialist in financial services regulatory law, derivatives and structured finance, who is already Financial Services Legal Leader Europe – will succeed Australian-based Tony Holland in this global role, who is retiring but will remain with the network as Special Counsel.

Dr Michael Huertas has been a Partner at PwC Legal in Frankfurt since July 2021. Michael is admitted as a Solicitor-Advocate (England & Wales), Solicitor (Ireland), Solicitor (Northern Ireland) and as a German lawyer (Rechtsanwalt).  The expert in banking, insurance and investment law brings many years of experience in providing regulatory advice to international financial services clients such as banks, broker-dealers, asset managers and insurers. His clients also include FinTech firms, including crypto-asset service providers and financial market infrastructure providers.

As part of his new responsibilities, Dr Michael Huertas will help coordinate and grow global teams in providing PwC’s (and PwC Legal’s) financial services clients with comprehensive and integrated solutions from across its global network of legal, technology and advisory experts, in order to meet their most pressing legal, regulatory and business needs.

The appointment of Dr Michael Huertas underlines the reputation and importance of our German practice in the international network. We are delighted that the experience and expertise of a renowned colleague will thus flow into the continuous development of our international network and the global service portfolio of the PwC and PwC Legal network.
