Martin Kahsnitz is an attorney (Rechtsanwalt) and tax advisor (Steuerberater) with more than ten years of professional experience. He specializes in the law governing charitable organizations as well as the tax law applicable to public-law corporations (Körperschaften des öffentlichen Rechts, KdöR) and other tax-exempt entities. He advises in particular charitable limited liability companies (gGmbHs), associations, and foundations, frequently in connection with the healthcare and social welfare sectors. A further focus of his work lies in tax matters relating to municipal shareholding structures, in particular investments in municipal utilities (Stadtwerke) and municipal corporate groups, as well as their restructuring. In addition, he is a lecturer in the specialist advisor course "Charitable Organizations" (Gemeinnützigkeit) of the DStV e. V. and the author of numerous publications on the taxation of charitable organizations and public-law corporations. He is also a co-author of Carlé/Bodden, "Die Betriebsaufspaltung – Gestaltung, Beratung, Muster," where he is responsible for the chapters on the Betriebsaufspaltung (business division) involving charitable organizations and public-law corporations.
